Location: Peñasco, NM (local candidate preferred; in-office 1–2 days/week, with some remote flexibility)

Peñasco Valley Historical Preservation Society (PVHPS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to restore and preserve the historic Peñasco High School/St. Anthony School as a Heritage Plaza that serves the Peñasco Valley through cultural preservation, community engagement, and economic development.

Position Overview
PVHPS is seeking a friendly, organized, and motivated part-time Development Administrator to help strengthen relationships with donors and expand individual giving. This role focuses on donor communications, fundraising outreach, and supporting events and newsletters that keep our community informed and engaged.

The Development Director will work closely with and report to the Executive Director and Board of Directors to help grow PVHPS’s base of individual donors and supporters.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Communications & Engagement
Develop and maintain consistent communication with donors, members, and supporters by sharing project updates and organizational news. Help strengthen relationships and build sustainable systems for ongoing donor engagement. -
Individual Donor Fundraising
Support individual donor outreach efforts, including appeals and relationship-building communications, while helping establish organized tracking systems for donor cultivation and follow-up. -
Events & Fundraisers
Support planning and execution of PVHPS events and fundraisers, assist with documentation and follow-up, and help maintain systems that track event participation and engagement. -
Volunteer Coordination & Systems Development
Develop and maintain a volunteer and contact database, categorize supporters by skills and interests, and coordinate volunteers for ongoing programming and restoration-related activities. Establish clear processes for volunteer communication and engagement. -
Organizational Systems & Capacity
Help develop internal communication templates, shared calendars, and workflow systems to strengthen PVHPS’s operational capacity and reduce administrative strain on volunteers and leadership. -
Newsletters & Community Communications
Assist in compiling and distributing quarterly newsletters and maintaining organized communication workflows that keep donors and the broader community informed. -
Grant & Funder Tracking
Create and maintain a centralized grant tracking system, monitor deadlines and reporting requirements, and support the Executive Director in tracking communications with potential funders.

Comfortable using computers and basic software (Word, Excel, email, and web tools)

Willingness to learn new tools and fundraising practices

Interest in community-based nonprofit work and alignment with PVHPS’s mission
